What are Sainik Schools? 
Sainik School came into existence in the 1960’s and the primary objective was to remove regional imbalances in the officers cadre and to develop qualities of body , mind and character that would make young boys and girls good respectable citizens who could serve the defence academy. Every year Sainik School Exam is conducted for admission to the various schools located all over the country. These schools are named after the localities where they are situated. Admission is confined only to class 6th and class 9th and the standard of the entrance examination is equivalent to the CBSE boards.

All India Sainik School Entrance Exams (AISSEE) 2013: 6th January 2013
Last date of submission of filled in AISSEE application forms: 10th December 2012
Sainik School admission is confined to boys if Sixth and ninth standard. Admission is purely based on the merit list declared. All India Sainik School entrance exam is normally conducted in the first week of January at various centers all over the country.
Sainik Schools prepare students for joining the NDA or the National defence Academy of India. Approximately 40% of cadets who joined NDA are from the Sainik Schools. But, there are many students from the Sainik schools who have excelled in all walks of life and have opted other careers like the Administrative services, Engineers, Lawyers and even in politics. All Sainik schools are affiliated to the CBSE board and are also members of the prestigious public schools conference. Academic session for Sainik Schools starts from the April 1st and ends on 31st March.

There are (595+19) Vidyalayas sanctioned in 27 states and 7 union territories of India. Every state has been allotted schools depending on the state population. What is the examination pattern and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Exam syllabus 2013?
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Exam will be of two hours duration and will have 3 sections with only objective type questions. This comprises of 100 questions carrying 100 marks and each question carries one mark.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Exam Syllabus is divided into three main sections as described below:
Mental Ability test: This is a non verbal test and questions are based on figures and diagrams. The questions are based on general mental functioning and the section is divided into ten paras having 5 questions in each section. 
Language Test: This test is to assess reading comprehension of the candidates. This section comprises of three passages followed by 5 questions.
Arithmetic Test: This test is to measure the basic competencies in Arithmetic’s.

JNV Selection Test 2013 for admission to class 6th for academic session 2013-14 has been published. The last date for submission of the application forms is 1st October 2012. Find below the schedule followed for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Exam 2013:
1) 10th Feb 2013 (Sunday at 9:30 AM): JNV exam for states of Andhra  Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, West Bengal (except Darjeeling) Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh (except Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla Districts), Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh (except Tawang District), Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep and Pondicherry .
2) 13th April 2013(Saturday at 9:30AM): JNV exam for states of Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir (except Leh & Kargil) and in the District of Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in the Districts of Chamba, Sirmour, Kullu, Kinnaur, Mandi, Shimla of Himachal Pradesh and in the District of Darjeeling of West Bengal.
3) 9th June 2013(Sunday at 9:30 AM): JNV for Districts of Leh & Kargil of Jammu & Kashmir and in the Districts of Lahaul & Spiti of Himachal Pradesh State

How to apply for JNV Selection Test?




Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Exam Application Form are available free of cost. Students can collect them from the officers listed below:

3) Headmaster of any Govt. / Govt. aided / Recognized Accredited Institute / Centre of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan / NIOS where he/she is studying

JNV application forms are also available at the official website http://www.nvsrojpr.gov.in . The duly filled application forms have to be submitted to the Block Educational Officer before the last date of submission. Candidates eligible for the examinations receive admit cards through the office of the Block Educational Officer.

Combined Medical services (CMS) examination 2013 Syllabus and Preparation Books


What is the examination pattern and syllabus for ?
Combined Medical Services examination comprises of a written test followed by a personality test. The written examination consists of two papers, each paper carrying maximum of 250 marks. Each paper will be of two hours duration.
